Foreign investment levels unchanged

The number of foreign investment projects in the Netherlands remained unchanged last year, despite the recession, Nos tv reports, quoting figures from IBM consultants.

In total, 253 new projects were started in 2009, just three fewer than in 2008, Nos says.
A quarter of all projects were started by rising economies such as India and China but Brazil is also increasingly active in the Netherlands, IBM said. The US remains the bigges foreign investor, followed by Germany and France.
News agency ANP says the foreign projects created 6,800 jobs last year, 100 fewer than in 2008.
Most of the projects focus on services and logistics rather than production.
