The Dutch national football team beat the United States 2-1 at home on Wednesday evening in their last friendly before the World Cup in July in South Africa.

Oranje was hardly in sparkling form, report Thursday’s papers, but did manage to score after three goalless matches.
Team manager Bert van Marwijk is set to take most of Wednesday’s players to the World Cup as long as they remain fit. Of those who did not play against the US, only the injured Robin van Persie is sure of a place.
