Dutch Rail to experiment with spit kits

Dutch Rail (NS) is to equip some railway workers with special spit kits which they can use to collect dna from travellers who spit at staff.

The kit includes plastic gloves and a cotton swab which can be used to collect the spittle. This will then be sent to the national forensic lab for investigation.
If a match can be found, the perpetrator can then face criminal charges. A spokesman told RTL news that 38% of staff have been spat at.
