Banned from town hall for ´headscarf rage´

A resident of the town of Hoogezand-Sappemeer in Groningen province has been banned from council buildings for a year for being aggressive towards at a council worker who wore a headscarf.


´The man refused on principle to be helped by a civil servant wearing a headscarf,´ a council official told the Volkskrant on Thursday. ´This sort of emotional outburst will not be tolerated in multicultural Hoogezand-Sappemeer under any circumstances.´
The council has banned other locals from council buildings for aggressive behaviour, the paper said.
