Few transfers during football winter break

A total 95 football players changed clubs during this winter’s transfer period from January 4 to February 1, the national football association KNVB said on Tuesday.

Last winter 153 players moved and 113 switched sides in the 2008 winter transfer period.
Of the 95 transfers, 28 involved Dutch players moving abroad and 19 foreign players moved to the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, according to the Telegraaf, Feyenoord technical director Leo Beenhakker is furious at the Rotterdam club’s board for refusing to give the green light to the signing of Brazilian striker Wanderson from GAIS Göthenborg.
Beenhakker had apparently organised the financing but the club refused to budge from its principle that another player would have to be sold first to clear the way for the Brazilian 23-year-old.
