Dutch luxury car maker Spyker is ‘favourite’ to take over Swedish car firm Saab, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Monday, quoting Swedish newspapers.

Spyker is taking part in ‘serious negotiations’ to take over Saab, put up for sale by General Motors the paper says.
‘We are very busy. We are talking about buying the entire company,’ Spyker CEO Victor Muller told the paper from Zurich, where the negotiations are taking place.
Muller confirmed Spyker hopes to get a €400m loan from the European Investment Bank to fund the acquisition.
The agreement to sell several old Saab production lines to Chinese firm BAIC is good news for Spyker, Muller told news agency ANP, describing the units as ‘old tools’.
