Arrests follow police road blocks
Police in Brabant arrested 16 people at a string of roadblocks across the region on Thursday night.
Roads were sealed in Oosterhout, Tilburg, Breda and Bergen op Zoom as part of a province-wide crackdown on theft, street crime and armed robbery, Nos tv reports. Some 150 police officers and 50 other officials were involved in the campaign.
Two burglars on a list of wanted men were arrested. The others taken into custody had unpaid fines, were illegal immigrants, insulted the police or refused to stop when ordered to do so.
In total, 21 cars were seized in lieu of unpaid tax debts.
