DSB in talks with US bank, Dutch say no

Independent bank DSB which had been given until midday today to find a buyer or be declared bankrupt, is in talks with an American bank which has shown interest in its operations, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Friday.

Last ditch efforts by DSB’s owner Dirk Scheringa to persuade the five big Dutch banks to take over DSB failed on Thursday evening.
After first setting deadline of 12am, Amsterdam district court has now agreed to go into closed session to discuss DSB’s survival at 2pm.
