Netherlands boycotts Iran speech to UN

The Netherlands was one of several countries to walk out of the UN general assembly meeting on Wednesday during an address by the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The US, Canada and France also left the hall because of what news agency ANP said was Ahmadinejad’s ‘anti-semetic rhetoric’.
The European Union had already decided to leave the meeting if the president denied the holocaust had taken place during World War II, ANP said.
During his speech, Ahmadinejad criticised the ‘zionist regime’ in Israel for its ‘inhuman police in Palestine’.
