Mixed European football fortunes for Dutch
There were mixed fortunes for the four Dutch clubs involved in this year’s Europa League competition on Wednesday night.
FC Twente was the only winner of the evening, with a 2-1 away victory over Turkish club Fenerbahce. Blaise N’Kufo scored both goals for Twente well into the second half.
PSV Eindhoven drew 2-2 against Sparta Prague.
Amsterdam’s Ajax managed a 0-0 draw against Romanian club Timisoara in front of its home crowd. Heerenveen lost 3-2 to Sporting Portugal who scored the third in the dying stages of the match.
