Angry dairy farmers plan to dump milk

Angry dairy farmers are set to dump 140,000 liters of milk in fields near the town of Monnickendam on Friday afternoon, in protest at the low milk price, news agency ANP said.

Farmers in Belgium, France and Germany have taken similar action over the past week.
Global dairy markets have declined in recent years and farmers are now paid around 20 cents a liter. Farmers say they need about 40 cents per liter to cover costs and make a basic living.
