Amsterdam police are appealing for witnesses after a 31-year-old police officer was found unconscious after responding to a call for police help in Diemen on Friday night.

Two officers responded to the call and split up in search of suspected troublemakers, the Telegraaf reports. The female officer went out of radio contact and was later found with head injuries.
She has since recovered consciousness but has not yet been able to give a statement about what happened, the paper said.
