VNU Media agrees new capital deal

Troubled magazine publisher VNU Media has agreed a refinancing package with its owners, the British private equity group 3i and HIG Capital.

HIG Capital and 3i will put €17.2m into the company, giving it financial stability for the next five years, the Financieele Dagblad reports.
Part of the investment will be used for online activities, the paper says.
VNU Media, which publishes Intermediair and Computable magazines, was bought by 3i in 2007 and has been hit hard by the downturn on the advertising market.
