Swim teacher sex case ‘exaggerated’

The lawyer representing swimming teacher Benno L, who is accused of sexually assaulting almost 100 girls, said on Thursday the case is not as serious as the public prosecution department is claiming.

Pieter van der Kruijs told Nos tv news fewer than 10 girls are actually involved and there is no question of serious sexual assault. He said he was surprised the public prosecution department had made the case ‘as big’ as it has, Nos tv. quoted him as saying.
He said parents have been made unnecessarily worried about the allegations.
In mid-June, the Telegraaf reported police had found indecent photographs of 98 girls aged six to 16 on computers owned by L. Tens of thousands of photographs of a sexual nature were found on five computers, eight hard drives, 10 cameras and 16 memory chips at his home in Den Bosch.
