Air travel hardest hit by recession

The effect of the recession on the Dutch transport sector has hit airlines hardest so far, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.


Over the first three months of this year, airline turnover fell 24%, compared with 12% for the transport sector as a whole, the CBS said. Turnover in the inland shipping sector was down 17%.
