Schiphol to farm out its parking activities

Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport is to farm out its parking activities to the private sector, director Jos Nijhuis says in an interview with the Financieele Dagblad on Wednesday.

The airport group is also looking at contracting out other non-core activities, Nijhuis said. ‘We have made a strategic choice to outsource more activities,’ he told the paper. ‘We are now researching contracting out parking management.’
Schiphol’s 35,000 parking places generated turnover of nearly €82m last year. Other locations generated a further €8m.
