Reports of abuse of the elderly soar
The number of official reports about the mistreatment of the frail elderly soared 81% last year to 662, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.
Some 70% of the reports were made by police officers, nurses and housing officials, the paper said. In some 15% of cases, the elderly person made the report and in 10% a family member.
