Most discrimination claims focus on age

The equal treatment commission CGB received more complaints about ageism than any other form of discrimination last year, according to the organisation’s 2008 report.

In total, 25% of the 432 complaints submitted to the commission focused on age, 17% on race and 13% on sex. Complaints about discrimination on religious grounds accounted for 8% of the total.
Discrimination at work accounted for 58% of the cases.
The commission’s rulings are not legally binding but were accepted by both sides in 79% of cases, the report says.
