Ministers to discuss temp staff ceiling
Ministers will today discuss a proposal that would limit spending on external advisers and interim staff to 13% of their total jobs budget, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.
The plan follows the revelation that government spending on temporary staff and advisers reached €1.3bn last year, €100m more than the budget. Most of that went on employing temporary staff.
Home affairs minister Guusje ter Horst told MPs on Thursday it would be difficult to get big-spending ministries to agree to a formal limit. The 13% figure is based on the average spending on external staff per ministry in 2007.
