House price drop could be worse: ECB

House prices in the Netherlands have gone down just 0.3% in the first three months of this year, a far better performance than in other EU countries, according to the European central bank’s latest Financial Stability Review.

In France, Spain and Ireland house prices have gone down between 6.6% and 9.8%, the ECB was quoted as saying by news agency ANP.
In Austria and Portugal, prices have risen, the ECB said. The organisation bases its calculations on its own figures and country sources.
The Dutch estate agents’ association NVM said in May house prices went down by 3.1% in the first three months of year
