Final day of school exams
Wednesday is the final day for this year’s school final exams, taken by some 200,000 16 to 19 year olds.
This year, the school pupils union LAKS has collected over 80,000 complaints about the exams and a spokesman told news agency ANP the final total will probably top last year’s 83,000 complaints.
There are a number of unusual protests. One girl in Nijmegen thought that the exam supervisor was so handsome he put her off her work. In Bilthoven a staunchly Protestant boy refused to answer a question about homosexuality in an English paper and two complaints were received from pupils faced with such difficult maths questions that their calculators seized up.
The results of the exams will be published on June 17 and 18.
