Fewer millionaires in the Netherlands

The recession has hit the number of millionaires in the Netherlands, according to the latest World Weath Report by Merril Lynch, news website Z24 said on Wednesday.

The number of people with net assets of over $1m fell from 120,600 in 2007 to 105,900 last year, a drop of 12.2%, the website said.
Nevertheless, the Netherlands still rose from 15th to 14th place on a list of countries with the most millionaires. The US was hardest hit. The number of ‘high net worth individuals’ fell 18%.
