‘Escort bureaus must be licenced’

Escort bureaus all over the country should have to follow Amsterdam’s lead and request a formal operating licence if they want to advertise their services, Amsterdam officials said on Thursday.

Since February, escort bureaus in the capital have needed to apply for a licence and their owners are vetted to make sure they have no criminal convictions or connections.
The Telegraaf reports that of the 120 escort bureaus thought to be operating in Amsterdam, 43 have applied for a licence and nine applications have been rejected.
