Corus to scrap 2,000 more jobs

Steel group Corus is to cut an extra 2,000 jobs, mainly in Britain, news agency ANP reports on Friday.

But the group’s pipe factory in Arnhem is also facing closure, with the loss of 123 jobs, the company said.
Corus’ IJmuiden steel works, where 800 jobs have gone since January, escapes the latest round of cuts.
Corus, which is now part of India’s Tata steel group, has already cut 3,500 jobs since the beginning of the year.
