Yolanthe car park pics talk of the town
Security camera footage of actress Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen kissing Real Madrid footballer Wesley Sneijder in an underground car park continues to dominate the gossip columns.
Film of the two embracing in a car park in Amsterdam was broadcast on tv showbiz programme RTL Boulevard shortly after Yolanthe’s split from singer Jan Smit hit the headlines.
The film was sold to the show by four workers at the garage, who deny media claims they made at least €100,000 from the deal.
The video has been downloaded over a million times so far and is the ‘third biggest news story of the year’, the editor of online news service nu.nl told the NRC.
Apology
The garage owners have made a public apology and say they have taken steps to make sure nothing similar happens again.
The workers involved have not been sacked. ‘It is a public garage with signs everywhere stating that there are security cameras,’ said one. According to the AD, they may have been forced to hand over their earnings to their employers after the row broke.
Neither Cabau van Kasbergen or Sneijder plan to take legal action against the garage. Both deny they are in a relationship.
Legal action
But the ex soap star is considering legal steps against the internet service provider which brought out an ad telling potential customers how easy it was to make the switch. ‘What Yolanthe can, you can do too,’ read the accompanying text.
Even prime minister Jan Pieter Balkenende has expressed his regrets about Smit and Cabau van Kasbergen’s decision to separate. ‘I am very sorry to hear that,’ he told the Telegraaf.
Finance minister Wouter Bos was more relaxed, news agency ANP reported. ‘At last Wesley has scored,’ he said.
