Vara pays one presenter €417,796

Public tv company Vara pays one of its presenters €417,796 a year, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.

The name of the presenter is kept secret in the Vara’s annual report but is likely to be Paul de Leeuw, Matthijs van Nieuwkerk or Paul Witteman, the paper says.
The annual report states that five of its presenters earn between €195,024 and €417,796 – all above the prime minister’s salary of €176,000 which is considered the standard for public sector broadcasting.
