Trade schools told to keep 10,000 pupils

Holland’s vocational training colleges (mbo) should keep some 10,000 pupils extra off the jobs market because of the economic crisis, the cabinet said on Wednesday.

The measure is one of the package of proposals worked out by ministers to reduce youth unemployment.
By encouraging students to stay in college and work for more qualifications, they will also be better equipped for the jobs market, ministers say.
