Sunshine boosts holiday weekend tourists
The warm weather boosted attendance at the Netherlands’ top attractions and seaside resorts, news agency ANP reports.
Visitor numbers at Emmen zoo were up 10%, partly due to the birth of a baby elephant, while a baby porpoise at the Dolfinarium in Harderwijk was a similar big draw.
A spokesman for the biggest attractions, united in the Club of Eleven, said the recession was not having an effect on vistor number, nor was individual spending down.
