Royal attack: queen visits survivors

Queen Beatrix, her sister princess Margriet, crown prince Willem-Alexander and princess Máxima on Saturday visited the eight people still in hospital following Thursday’s Queen’s Day attack, the state information service RVD said.

During the visits, spread out over five hospitals, the royals also spoke to family members, the RVD said.
So far some 200,000 people have signed condolence registers for the six people killed when a 38-year-old man drove into the crowd watching the Queen’s Day parade. He died of his injuries later.
A post morten revealed he had died from brain damage, probably sustained when his car smashed into railings surrounding an obelisk. There was no trace of alcohol in his blood but there were signs he had used marijuana in the past 14 days, the Telegraaf reports.
