NS subsidiary buys into London buses
The international arm of the Dutch railway company NS is to take over London bus company Travel London from National Express, the NRC reports on Friday.
NedRailways has bought the company, which runs a number of London bus services, for €35.5m. The company made a profit of nearly four million pounds sterling last year and has a workforce of 1,600. It has a fleet of 470 buses.
NedRailways already owns bus companies in Germany and the Czech Republic. It also operates regional rail services in the north of England in partnership with British firm Serco and is competing to run train services in the south of the country, the NRC reports.
