Most support digital patient records
Some 94% of the population support the soon-to-be-introduced system of storing patients’ medical records in a centralised digital system, says patient body NCPF.
Of the 6% who have refused to allow their records to be included, most are concerned about privacy and the security of the system, the NCPF says.
The EPD (elektronische patiëntdossier) is due to be introduced in 2010. The aim is to reduce medical errors by giving doctors, hospital specialists and pharmacists access to medical records.
