ChristUnie wants noise limits at discos

Minor coalition party ChristenUnie is calling on the government to introduce maximum noise levels for discos and MP3 players like ipods, news agency ANP reports on Friday.

Damage to hearing caused by loud music is a ‘simmering health problem’, the party says. It has asked health minister Ab Klink to look into possible measures to protect club staff and the public.
MPs have also asked Klink to meet MP3 player manufacturers to talk about noise limiters, ANP says.
