Cats and dogs are getting older
Improved diets and better healthcare are creating a sharp increase in the age of the Netherlands’ dogs and cats, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.
Four out of 10 dogs in the country are now over eight years old, as are almost 50% of cats. And one in eight cats is over 13 years of age.
The Netherlands’ six million households have 2.1 million dogs and 3.6 cats, the paper says.
