Albright joins Hague institute
Madeleine Albright, the former US secretary of state, has agreed to join the supervisory board of a new academic institute in the Hague, the Institute for Global Justice, the Volkskrant reports.
The institute, which is allied to Leiden University, will focus on peace, justice and international security, the paper says.
Albright is a friend of Hague mayor and former foreign affairs minister Jozias van Aartsen.
The Hague, which profiles itself as the second UN city after New York, is host to the International Criminal Court, the UN tribunal on the former Yugoslavia, Europol and a number of other international organisations concerned with peace and justice.
