TV loan ads may face watershed

CDA and PvdA MPs are preparing a draft law which would restrict advertising for financial loans to after the 9pm watershed, according to the Telegraaf on Thursday.


Earlier proposals for a complete ban, which the government feels will lessen the number of bad debts, were scuppered because it compromises the right to freedom of expression. Currently 15,000 people in the Netherlands are facing debt trouble.
