Teachers spend less time teaching

Teachers in secondary education spend only 38% of their average working week actually teaching, news agency ANP reports on Tuesday, quoting education ministry figures.


Another 20% is spent on teaching-related tasks but 42% goes on meetings, administration, training and student coaching.
In 2000, teachers spent 42% of their time in front of the class and 36% on non-teaching related tasks.
