Swimmer Veldhuis sets two world records

Swimmer Marleen Veldhuis set two new world records at the Swim Cup event in Amsterdam this weekend.


Veldhuis won the 50m free style in 23.96, beating the existing world record by one hundredth of a second.
She also set a new world record time in the 50m butterfly off 25.33, shaving over one tenth of a second of the previous best time.
‘This is really super, fantastic,’ Veldhuis told reporters after the event.
