National lottery creates 26 millionaires
A total of 26 people won at least €1m playing the state lottery last year, the Staatsloterij organisation said on Wednesday. In total, the lottery paid out €550m in prizes.
The biggest prize of €25m went to someone in The Hague last summer.
Spending on lottery tickets went up 7% last year to €826m. The organisation’s profits – €140m – go to the treasury.
