Housing boss under formal investigation

The public prosecution department confirmed on Thursday that it had begun a ‘serious and broad’ investigation into possible corruption involving the former director of one of Amsterdam’s biggest housing corporations.

Hubert Mollenkamp was sacked at the beginning of February following a damning report by forensic accountants at Deloitte. He had been on leave since October.
Mollenkamp is said to have been involved in several dubious property transactions. He is also reported to have used company money to run a Maserati sports car with chauffeur.
Rochdale is based in Amsterdam and has some 38,000 social housing properties on its books.
