Exports down 12% in February

The volume of exports from the Netherlands to the rest of the world fell by 12% in February, compared with the year earlier period, says the national statistics office CBS.


The total value of exports was down 21% at €24.4bn. Imports were also down by 12%.
The decline takes the Dutch trade surplus to €2.9bn, some €500m less than in February 2008.
