Dutch tourist trampled by Indian elephant
A Dutch tourist has been trampled to death by a wild elephant in the Kaziranga national park in north-eastern India, reports news agency ANP quoting local media.
ANP says the foreign affairs ministry is unable to confirm the death.
Local media say the victim is a 60-year-old man who was part of a group looking at rare birds and monkeys. Eight other tourists were rescued and armed guards attempted to shoot the elephant, ANP reports.
