DNA data base generates 4,000 matches

The dna data bank kept by the Dutch forensic institute in The Hague generated 4,000 matches between evidence left at crime scenes and known criminals, news agency ANP reports on Tuesday.

The most dramatic incident was a match to the 1994 murder of an air hostess. The suspect is due to appear in court later this year.
In total, the dna bank carries the details of 111,000 people.
