Difficult Q1 for staffing group Randstad

Temporary employment agency Randstad booked a loss of €52.6m in the first three months of this year, largely due to the cost of integrating the world’s number four staffing agency Vedior.

Excluding one-offs, the group booked net income of €8.8m, down 88% on the year-earlier period, Randstad said in a statement on Friday.
Randstad said revenue was under pressure in most markets, especially in the large account and industrial segments. But ‘pockets of growth include amongst others the contact center and government linked businesses,’ the statement said.
