Union furious at DSM boss pay rise

The FNV manufacturing union has reacted furiously to the 130% pay rise awarded to DSM CEP Feike Sijbesma last year.

Sijbesma’s pay package rose through a combination of a 13% salary increase, options and a higher bonus. ‘The option plan must go and the salary must be reduced. Otherwise we are going to ask for a 3.5% rise,’ said union official Henk van Rees in the Volkskrant.
Union members had been willing to accept a low pay rise in return for job guarantees, the paper said.
