The Tefaf antiques and fine arts fair in Maastricht, which closes on Sunday, is on course for a fall in visitor numbers of 8.5%, a spokesman announced on Friday.
The organisers are expecting a drop from 73,245 in 2008, one of the most successful fairs, to around 67,000 this year.
Despite the financial crisis, old master paintings and antiques have still be selling well and some dealers have sold more than they did last year, said the spokesman.
