Minister encourages holidays at home

If one-third of the nine million people who go abroad for their holidays stayed in their own country, billions of euros would be pumped into the economy, says junior economic affairs minister Frank Heemskerk in an interview with the AD newspaper on Thursday.


Heemskerk himself is setting an example by spending a week on the Dutch island of Terschelling in May, says the AD.
