Low uptake of cervical cancer vaccination
Just 60% of teenage girls eligible for the cervical cancer vaccination have turned up for their injection in the first week of the programme which began on March 2. The public health institute RIVM had expected the uptake to be between 70% and 75%.
Many girls and their parents are not persuaded vaccination will guard against cervical cancer and are worried about reports of girls in the US dying after receiving the injection, reports the NOS website.
