Former Fortis boss got €6.3m
Former Fortis CEO Jean-Paul Votron left the company last year with a €6.3m pay-off, according to Belgian media reports.
The sum was made up of €2.5m for the takeover of ABN Amro in 2007, a €1.3m golden handshake, and €1.9m for ensuring Fortis’ share price rose during his four years at the top.
Votron stepped down last July under pressure from the group’s board over the company’s financial difficulties.
