FARC hostages met Dutch guerrilla Tanja

Three American hostages released by the FARC left-wing guerrilla movement in Colombia in July 2008 say they met Dutch woman Tanja Nijmeijer, who has been fighting with the rebels for six years.

According to reports in the Dutch press on Tuesday, the three men say in a book about their captivity that Nijmeijer can hardly open her mouth without saying something anti-American and that she spouts ‘all the FARC bullshit’.
Nijmeijer went missing six years ago. In September 2007 it emerged that she was with FARC rebels after her diaries were found and published in South American papers.
The hostages met her when FARC allowed them to make a video for their families. She was the only FARC member who could speak decent English. ‘She looks out of place in her uniform,’ say the men.
