Crash survivors consider legal action

Some 40 survivors of last week’s Turkish Airlines plane crash close to Schiphol airport have signed up for a possible damages claim, the Volkskrant reports on Tuesday.

Survivor Henk Heijloo, who says he has constant back pain since the crash, plans to set up a foundation on Wednesday to fight for compensation.
According to Dutch media reports, the safety council may make its preliminary conclusions about the cause of the crash known later on Wednesday.
Nine people were killed when the Turkish Airlines Boeing 737 ploughed into a field just short of the runway. According to some eyewitnesses, the plane appeared to drop like a stone.
